As one of our Relationship Directors, you’ll be responsible for building deep relationships with corporate customers and providing them with the excellent service they have come to expect from us.
Your key aim will be to manage an extensive portfolio of customers, acting as a trusted advisor to each of them. You will also be expected to add to your portfolio, by targeting prospective customers and building strong relationships with them. This will involve a fair bit of travelling, as you will be regularly visiting customers at their own premises.
Other responsibilities include managing risk within your portfolio, and supporting, coaching and developing members of the team.
Success as a Relationship Director is all about commercial effectiveness. So you need a proven talent for sales, negotiation and decision-making. Communication is another highly important skill, whether you’re building relationships with clients, leading a presentation or trying to influence the members of your team.

This is a key role within our Sales Support Team, and involves developing and maintaining the relationships we have with our corporate customers.
As well as dealing with customer requests and acting as the principal point of contact when the Relationship Director is unavailable, you will provide vital support in a wide range of areas, including product knowledge, sales research and risk management.
We always try to ensure that we are providing our customers with the best possible service. So another important part of your role will be to identify areas where we could do more for specific customers and then work with colleagues around the business to deliver solutions that meet those needs.
The people who tend to excel as Relationship Support Managers are those with excellent customer focus and real commercial acumen. You’ll need to be a highly accomplished communicator, influencer and collaborator. General business skills are also important, including the ability to make decisions and come up with solutions that deliver real results.

Our Product team support our sales professionals by providing a wide range of specialist services, including Cash Management, Trade and Working Capital, Debt Finance and Foreign Exchange. To work here, you tend to need specific technical experience, which you will most likely have honed within the financial sector.
For example, if you joined us as a Product Manager, you could be using your business development skills to drive forward future product enhancements in one of several niche areas.
As a Strategy Manager, you would be drawing on your experience with either another top-tier bank or a leading consulting firm to analyse issues facing the business and shape future direction.
To become one of our Global Pricing professionals, on the other hand, you might need a strong debt product background and a solid understanding of the principles of risk.
