By living the Barclays way and embracing our values, we’ve turned the business around significantly in the last five years and have built a close, collaborative team that will drive us forward into the future.

Right now, we are spearheading digital banking and investing heavily in innovative technology and systems. Our aim is to become THE digital bank. For anyone willing to embrace change, and try new ways of working, this is an opportunity to be part of that journey and grow with us.

We have a strong commitment to training and development and will ensure you have the digital skills and tools you need to delight our clients in this rapidly changing world. We also provide clear career paths for everyone and targeted programmes to help you progress.

Our Roles

Relationship Director

As one of our Relationship Directors, you’ll be responsible for building deep relationships with corporate customers and providing them with the excellent service they have come to expect from us.

Your key aim will be to manage an extensive portfolio of customers, acting as a trusted advisor to each of them. You will also be expected to add to your portfolio, by targeting prospective customers and building strong relationships with them. This will involve a fair bit of travelling, as you will be regularly visiting customers at their own premises.

Other responsibilities include managing risk within your portfolio, and supporting, coaching and developing members of the team.

Success as a Relationship Director is all about commercial effectiveness. So you need a proven talent for sales, negotiation and decision-making. Communication is another highly important skill, whether you’re building relationships with clients, leading a presentation or trying to influence the members of your team.

Relationship Support Manager

This is a key role within our Sales Support Team, and involves developing and maintaining the relationships we have with our corporate customers.

As well as dealing with customer requests and acting as the principal point of contact when the Relationship Director is unavailable, you will provide vital support in a wide range of areas, including product knowledge, sales research and risk management.

We always try to ensure that we are providing our customers with the best possible service. So another important part of your role will be to identify areas where we could do more for specific customers and then work with colleagues around the business to deliver solutions that meet those needs.

The people who tend to excel as Relationship Support Managers are those with excellent customer focus and real commercial acumen. You’ll need to be a highly accomplished communicator, influencer and collaborator. General business skills are also important, including the ability to make decisions and come up with solutions that deliver real results.

Product Team

Our Product team support our sales professionals by providing a wide range of specialist services, including Cash Management, Trade and Working Capital, Debt Finance and Foreign Exchange. To work here, you tend to need specific technical experience, which you will most likely have honed within the financial sector.

For example, if you joined us as a Product Manager, you could be using your business development skills to drive forward future product enhancements in one of several niche areas.

As a Strategy Manager, you would be drawing on your experience with either another top-tier bank or a leading consulting firm to analyse issues facing the business and shape future direction.

To become one of our Global Pricing professionals, on the other hand, you might need a strong debt product background and a solid understanding of the principles of risk.

As part of a high-performing Business Banking Team, you’ll deliver great quality conversations to our customers over the phone.

You will be trained to meet the financial needs of our business customers by offering solutions and services that will truly make a difference. We’ll help you to develop your skills via an intensive training course that will support your on-going career development.

You’ll have the tenacity and drive to work hard, understanding all of our customers’ lifestyle requirements so that we can make their lives much easier. Relationship building will be a key part of your role.

You’ll operate within regulatory requirements set out by Barclays and our regulators, to ensure that customers are always protected.

You’ll also work with everyone inside and outside your team, helping you to make the best possible contribution.
We’ll provide opportunities for career development, and you can rest assured that you’ll be recognised, valued and rewarded. And because we’re a global bank, we recruit based on merit and promote diversity. So if you can help us be the ‘Go-To’ bank for customers, we’ll help you build a career that’s perfect for you.

Here at Barclays we like to make our customers lives easier, as a result our contact centres are open 354 days of the year, between the hours of 7 am and 11pm, so we’re able to provide our team members with a range of shift patterns, and will do our very best to offer you the shift which best suits your needs.
